We had a great conversation with Bonn E Maiy on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about many things from family, music, sacrifices, passion, she told some great stories to a whole lot more.
In early 2017, Bonn E Maiy was working in Canada, always drawn to making music, but wondering if her dreams would ever materialize. Just a couple years later – she’s been on stage with Johnny Depp and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, performed in stadiums with tens of thousands of people, and her music has been streamed millions of times…safe to say, she’s on the right path!
This gifted creative has proven well capable of going from performing for 40,000 people in a stadium, to acting in a short film or on a theatre stage… to creating and performing songs in a recording studio for the LIVE stage – and calling it ‘just a day in the life’.
Since February 2018, the vocalist and musician has played numerous high-profile stages, including: Hard Rock’s Guitar Hotel launch with Johnny Depp / Joe Perry / Paul Geary / Miguel, iHeart Live Sessions (NYC HQ), Boca Raton Bowl (25k attendance), Sunfest (130k attendance), Riptide Music Festival (60k attendance), Chili Cook Off (25k attendance), shows with Josh Turner, Sublime with Rome, Eric Paslay, and more.
In Summer 2020, Bonn was endorsed by the iconic Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane) and the estates of Janis Joplin and The Doors, while her Facebook following grew to over 100,000 fans. Country Rebel, the largest Country music network in the world, started posting her videos and she has quickly
amassed over 4.5m views and 100k+ reactions in just a few weeks.
Her music video for football anthem “Gameday” features NFL Hall of Famer – Ray Lewis, and has crossed 100,000 views. Since March 2019, Bonn is averaging 20,000 – 40,000 streams per week (Soundscan). Total streams on her original music is cumulatively 2 million and counting. Two of her
music videos were premiered throughout 60+ Margaritaville Resort locations around the globe.
Bonn’s music marries genres and perspectives, with lyrics covering the unfiltered realities of life. Her well-received album “Demands & Desires” has essences of Country, Americana, Rock, and even Broadway musicals. Her distinct vocal tone floats in and out of instrumentals while her other-worldly harmonies provide the listener multiple layers of ear candy at each turn.
A true creative at heart, Bonn’s person is as interesting as her music: from playing rugby and wrestling in high school, to completing a degree in Wood-Working, to working as a barista and as a bartender, to driving semi-trucks with her granddad and earning a pilot’s license, her life is a lesson in living.
Just like the path of her ancestor Myles Standish, who sailed the Mayflower and led the Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony, Bonn E Maiy’s music journeyed from Europe to the U.S., and is set to redefine boundaries!
