We had a great conversation with artist Justin Love on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about God, family, sacrifices, music, life in general, he told some great stories to a whole lot more! He also performed 2 of his songs on the show!
Singer/Songwriter Justin Love was born and raised in Waco Texas. The son of a youth pastor, Love grew up learning to perform beside his family at their hometown church whereby age five, he was harmonizing on worship songs alongside his sisters. By age eleven, Love found his calling when he heard Chris Tomlin’s “Holy Is The Lord,”on the radio.
Upon earning his Associate’s Degree in Commercial Music, Love intended to pursue a four-year degree from the University of North Texas; however, he was encouraged by his professors to move to Nashville and follow his dream of a music career. Love took their words to heart and in 2013, he packed up his life and moved to Nashville. Shortly thereafter, he wrote his first country song, “Baby I Still Do,” and hasn’t looked back. While Love enjoys all genres of music, it is country music that he relates to best and that provides him with the greatest opportunity to impact others through his powerful lyrics and songs crafted from real-life experiences.
Love has a style all of his own. His unique sound along with compelling, country-driven melodies and melancholic lyrics make him an on-the-rise contributor to country music’s indie subculture. His debut single “Awake or When I’m Dreaming,” created a buzz among music industry professionals and fans alike charting on multiple indie music charts and earning him a Josie Music Award nomination for Song of the Year in 2019. Love followed that up with “Like Me Like That” in the spring of 2019, and “I Wanna,” which was released in July of 2020 and was the most significant song in his career to date, defining his music and his sound. It won him “Judges Pick” in the Global Rising Song contest and he continued building momentum with his latest single “Went Looking For Me.”
A four-time semi-finalist and 2019 runner-up in Nashville’s esteemed songwriting competition, Nashville Rising Song, Love has performed at some of Nashville’s most prestigious venues, including The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Café, The Local, and Douglas Corner Café. He has also performed at fairs and festivals across the southeast.
Look for Love’s song “I Wanna,” also co-written with Troy Castellano, to be featured in TNT’s original CLAWS series finale, which will air later this year streaming on Hulu, DIRECTV, TNT, Spectrum On Demand or via download on Apple iTunes, Google Play Movies, Vudu, Amazon Video.
