Michael Lee started his country music career at the age of 14, singing gospel songs in church with a natural ability to perform, and became comfortable with an on-stage presence. As Michael went through high school, he was performing throughout his local communities. At about that time, Michael ventured into songwriting. In 2004, Michael met another country singer and formed the country music duo Buck and Duke. During the next few years, with Michael’s incredible voice, they started building momentum in the country music industry. They caught the attention of Grammy Award winning producer, Wilbur C. Rimes, who recorded their debut album “Change is Overrated.” This led to show cases with major record labels in Nashville, TN. Subsequently, they started writing songs with Hall of Fame songwriter, Pat Alger and other well-established writers. At the same time, they performed shows nationwide with major acts. Michael also caught the attention of former Warner Brothers executive Bob Saporitti, who stated working to further his career.
Despite the attention and support of the country music industry, Michael was feeling a void in his life. As so many do, struggling with the issue of managing an on the road music career and responsibilities of being home with his family. Missing his wife and children, created a void in Michael’s life and like so many others, he was faced with tough decisions. Michael choose his loving wife and children, returning home to be a family. Not wanting to stop singing completely, Michael recorded several Christian Country albums with the award winning Daywind Records, a major leading gospel music label in Nashville, Tennessee.
