Country artist and songwriter, Taylor Hughes, is not your typical pop country artist; with blues and southern rock influences and a unique voice like no one you’ve ever heard. She’s bound to bring a refreshing sound to the table. Hughes was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky but made the move to Nashville in late 2017. She has been performing professionally for over 6 years now and got her start in Nashville on a TV Comcast called “Nashville Spotlight.” Award winning gospel singer and vocal coach, Christy Sutherland, has described Taylor’s voice as “rich chocolate cake with soul.” Taylor has been nominated multiple times for best female vocalist, singer-songwriter, song of year, and best country act for the Lexington Music awards. She was awarded best singer-songwriter and song of the year in 2016, best female vocalist in 2018, was awarded best female vocalist and best country act in 2019, and was just nominated for 2020 best female vocalist and country artist. Hughes has played at several prestigious venues such as the world famous Stations Inn, Manchester Music Hall, and The Lyric Theater. She has opened for great artists such as Chase Rice, Riley Green, Sam Riggs, Angaleena Presley (from Pistol Annies), Striking Matches, and Olivia Dvorak just to name a few. Taylor released her debut single “Good Taste” on April 10, 2020 and plans to release more music this fall.
